Cancellation guide
How to cancel Audible
Cancel Audible through the biller-specific route below. Save the final end date or written confirmation before you leave.
Step by step
- On Audible desktop, username
- Account details
- Cancel membership
- Continue to cancel until the cancellation page. On mobile web, menu
- account
- Cancel membership.
What happens after cancellation
Purchased titles stay in the library. Direct-billed unused credits should be used before canceling unless an offered pause is chosen; App Store and Google Play credits do not expire on cancellation.
How to know it worked
Audible sends an email and Account details reflects cancellation.
Before you cancel: pay less
Documented option
Eligible monthly members can pause for up to 90 total days per 12 months.
Annual plans are ineligible; it auto-renews, promotions keep running, and credit rules differ by biller.
Offer may appear
A pause is the primary documented save option. If an offer appears, compare its cadence, end date, and full renewal price. Never assume an account-specific offer is guaranteed.
What they don't tell you
- Deleting the app does not cancel. Apple/Google memberships cannot be canceled on Audible's site. A pause is not permanent cancellation.
If you subscribed through Apple
Audible cannot cancel a subscription that Apple bills. On your iPhone open
Settings, tap your name, then Subscriptions, choose Audible and cancel there.
Check the receipt: if it came from Apple, that is your route.
Check the biller first
Direct; Apple; Google Play. If Apple, Google Play, Amazon, PayPal, a carrier, or another partner appears on the receipt, cancel with that provider instead of using the merchant's direct route.
