  3. Confirm the final end date or request written support confirmation.

What happens after cancellation

Plan, promotion, region, and purchase channel control timing and refunds; do not promise a partial refund.

How to know it worked

Save the Customer Center status, email, or agent transcript with an effective date.

Before you cancel: pay less

Documented option

Ask support about the lowest current plan only if willing to keep the subscription.

Record the billing cadence, promotional term, and every bundled product.

Offer may appear

Authenticated/support offers may vary; no stable public evidence. If an offer appears, compare its cadence, end date, and full renewal price. Never assume an account-specific offer is guaranteed.

What they don't tell you

If you subscribed through Apple

The Wall Street Journal cannot cancel a subscription that Apple bills. On your iPhone open Settings, tap your name, then Subscriptions, choose The Wall Street Journal and cancel there. Check the receipt: if it came from Apple, that is your route.

Check the biller first

Direct; Apple; Google and other resellers. If Apple, Google Play, Amazon, PayPal, a carrier, or another partner appears on the receipt, cancel with that provider instead of using the merchant's direct route.
