What they don't tell you

If the page shows Turn on recurring billing, renewal is already off. Past-due balances can block changes. The owner of the Microsoft account must cancel; a cardholder cannot cancel someone else's Microsoft account plan.

Check the biller first

Microsoft direct; prepaid code/retailer; may be included in another service. If Apple, Google Play, Amazon, PayPal, a carrier, or another partner appears on the receipt, cancel with that provider instead of using the merchant's direct route.
