How to cancel YouTube Premium

What happens after cancellation
Benefits continue until the end of the billing period and no new charge occurs unless the user resubscribes. Canceling does not refund the unused period.

Before you cancel: pay less
Documented option
Pause an eligible direct/Google plan for one to six months.
Annual and Apple-billed plans cannot use the documented pause; billing automatically resumes.
Offer may appear
No guaranteed discount. If an offer appears, compare its cadence, end date, and full renewal price. Never assume an account-specific offer is guaranteed.
What they don't tell you
- Apple, Google Play, and partner-billed plans must use the matching provider route. Pause may be offered but is not the same as cancellation.
If you subscribed through Apple
YouTube Premium cannot cancel a subscription that Apple bills. On your iPhone open
Settings, tap your name, then Subscriptions, choose YouTube Premium and cancel there.
Check the receipt: if it came from Apple, that is your route.
Check the biller first
YouTube direct; Google Play; Apple; integrated partners such as carriers. If Apple, Google Play, Amazon, PayPal, a carrier, or another partner appears on the receipt, cancel with that provider instead of using the merchant's direct route.
